Interview a job seeker

With the unemployment rate currently at 10.2 percent, many Americans likely know someone who is looking for work.

We want to hear their stories. Interview a friend, family member or acquaintance who is unemployed and find out his or her situation.

Here are some suggested questions:

1. How long have you been looking for work?

2. Do you still have confidence that you will find a job?

3. How have you supplemented your income in the meantime?

4. Is this your first time being unemployed?

Keep the conversations short – no longer than three minutes – and be sure to provide basic details about the person you profile.

Health care reform

Inadequate health insurance, or the complete lack of coverage, is a problem for many Americans as the recession presses on. Are you able to pay for the health care you need?

Put yourself on video and tell us your story. Have you ever gone to the emergency room instead of a doctor's office for routine care, or do you have a chronic illness that you cannot afford to treat?

Share your feelings as well as your opinions on a potential solution to this problem. What does the government need to do, and how can insurance companies better work with patients and doctors?

40 years of Sesame Street

In observance of this landmark, the iReport team has created its own video tribute to the letter “I.” Meanwhile, we’d like to see your videos for the other letters of the alphabet.
